FLU VACCINATION FOR
50-64 YEARS OLD - WINTER 2020
Please note that people in the 50-64-year old age group will not be vaccinated until November and December, providing there is sufficient vaccine, and no appointments will be offered for this age group until then. This is to ensure that those who are most at risk are vaccinated first. If you are 50-64 and you are in one of the other groups which is eligible for the flu vaccination, for example you have a health condition which puts you at risk from the flu, you will be invited earlier.
Supplying Face Mask Exemption letters to patients
In England, you must by law wear a face covering on public transport and in shops and supermarkets as of 24 July 2020.
The Government guidance suggests there is no requirement for evidence for exemption. It should be sufficient for someone to declare that they are eligible for an exemption direct with the person questioning them (eg bus driver).
The BMA (British Medical Association) has advised GP Practices are therefore not required to provide letters of support for those who fall under the list of exemptions, or to those who do not fall under the list of exemptions.
Some transport providers are providing evidence of exemptions themselves, see for example this information from First Bus and Arriva. There are also charities such as Hidden disabilities (https://hiddendisabilitiesstore.com/) which provides face covering exemption cards.
